Mondays To-do list: Launch A Blog?!

It's January 2024 and the world is ablaze with possibility, responsibility, and obligations.

With planner sales at a statistical all-time high and productivity at the forefront of many minds, January is a month of beginnings. It's a clean start, a sharpened Ticonderoga pencil, a crisp sheet of lined paper.

But how does one start the year off right and also continue the motivation for the next 12 months?

  1. Step One: Take The Pressure Off. It's a predictable fact that overdoing it by setting unattainable goals can cause rapid motivation burnout. Be honest with yourself. Be ambitious but be reasonable. Push yourself but don't think of magical overnight change - take it one step at a time and give yourself the leeway to build up to bigger goals. For example, my goal for 2024 is to launch Fingers Crossed blog and to publish written pieces on a weekly basis. While reaching a daily or every-other-day cadence for blog posts would be ideal, I am setting myself up with a goal I know that is attainable. The Goal: In 2024, Priyamia.com will have a live new blog post every Monday. Priyamia Mondays if you will. Tasking myself with this simple, clear, but ambitious goal has given me the jolt of motivation I need but the long term concept doesn't overwhelm me.

  2. Step Two: Write it all down. Whatever your goals may be, not only establishing a vision of what your goals are but then writing down the steps to get to them will help you build out your 2024 plan. I recommend getting a physical planner (papier.com has some beautiful hardcopy planners that can be personalized, I bought my boyfriend's sister one for Christmas and I'm eyeing them for myself). For those who prefer a tech-approach to planning, I've been a staunch user of notion.com for years now. Quick youtube searches can help you find productive notion template to utilize and build off of. Building out a vision-board is easy and visually inspiring on pinterest.com. But ultimately, you don't need a brand new iPad, a fancy planner, or anything else to find and establish your goals. As long as you can find a way to get your plan from your mind into physical words or photographs, you will have a way to be held accountable.

  3. Step Three: Think Ahead. A year is not the lengthy and intimidatingly long period of time it once was. When creating your goals and working toward them, the end of the year is a good target timeline. But goals should be built upon every year, not extinguished and re-created.

Taking the above advice is a huge part of the way I'm building out my goals for 2024. And my big goal for 2024 is, well, this. Fingers Crossed has been something I've been working on for quite some time. I chose today to be the born-day because of how hopeful the beginning of every year is and by essence of name and credo, I want this blog to be a helpful and hopeful point of promise in the different verticals I want to explore with it.

So welcome to my blog of lifestyle advice, fashion, beauty, health and most importantly hope. This is the place where we will explore and share learnings about fashion styling, wellness behavior and medicine, conscientious shopping and more. I don't have all the answers, I can't claim to have all the most popular opinions, and I'm learning more each day but I'm so excited to share it all with the world.

Will 2024 be kind to me?

Fingers crossed. xoxo
